A new chapter

We've been doing accessibility all wrong.

For decades, support in the home has meant clinical white plastic bolted to the wall. Vivette believes supportive homeware should feel beautiful — never institutional.

Our Story

Founded so my grandmother would feel at home, in her own home.

Vivette began at a kitchen table, after watching a grandmother quietly refuse to adapt the home she’d loved for fifty years. Not because she didn’t need support — but because everything on offer felt clinical, embarrassing, and somehow not hers.

We started Vivette to make supportive homeware that people are proud to display. Pieces that protect dignity as carefully as they protect the body.

In their words

Confidence, dignity, and a home that still feels like home.

✳︎ For the first time, I don't feel like I have to hide the things I need to feel safe at home.
Karin, Sussex
✳︎ I bought a pair for my mother. She finally agreed to install them. That alone is worth everything.
Sophie, London
✳︎ We specify Vivette across our later-living projects. Beautifully made and quietly reassuring.

Considered answers

Frequently asked.

How is a Vivette rail installed?

Each piece comes with only 2 screws for easy installation. All fittings and fixings are supplied with each product, as well as a clear instruction guide and video. Installation typically takes ten minutes into a stud or masonry wall.

How much weight can it support?

Every Vivette piece is internally weight tested to 160kg, well beyond UK accessibility standards. Each rail is engineered as a structural piece, not a decorative one.

What is the wood and finish?

We offer two finishes: Oak & Iroko. The oak is finished with satin yacht varnish, while the iroko is finished with Osmo Oil. Both are water resistant and suitable for inside or outside. However the Iroko is the most durable and so recommended for areas exposed to regular water such as showers or wet rooms.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. All our finishes are suitable for bathrooms. For heavy water exposure such as within a shower, we would recommend our most waterproof grab rails — the Iroko finish.

Delivery and returns

All orders are shipped with a tracked delivery service and are typically dispatched 2–3 days after purchase, unless otherwise specified on the product page. We offer a 30-day return policy on unfitted pieces. All return costs to our Sussex showroom are to be covered by the customer.

Who is Vivette for?

Anyone who wants to live well, beautifully and independently — but also cares about how their home looks & feels. Many of our customers buy with the future in mind, or as a considered gift for a parent.
